How does the Refer-A-Friend program work?
First, click on this link to join the program: Refer-a-friend and register. Once you register, you are assigned a share link, which allows Advance Auto Parts to track all of your referrals. You can share this link with your friends on Facebook or Twitter, email your friends directly, or also copy and paste your personal link in a separate email or web page. If a friend clicks on your link and then makes a qualifying purchase, you earn a reward.
What is a 'qualifying purchase'?
A qualifying purchase must be made online (at advanceautoparts.com), and must be at least $80. The $80 total is counted after discounts are taken, and does not include tax, shipping charges or core charges.
How many people can I refer?
There is no limit to the number of friends you can refer, and we encourage our customers to share with as many friends as they can. We do, however, cap the maximum value of earned rewards at $600 per Refer-a-Friend user per calendar year.
How do I find out how many friends I've referred?
When you register for the program, you are given a link to the Refer-A-Friend dashboard, where you can sign in and view how many shares, clicks, and referrals you have earned.
How will my friend know that I am referring them?
The email you send to your friends will look like it is coming from your email address, and not a corporate or commercial email address. In the email, there are detailed instructions telling your friend how to receive his or her discount.
Once I earn a referral, when will I receive my reward?
Rewards are typically fulfilled on a monthly basis, so it usually takes between four and six weeks to receive your reward via email.
How do I unsubscribe to your email list?
Each e-mail we send should contain an unsubscribe link, or you can unsubscribe by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org including the e-mail address you would like unsubscribed. Note: The only reason you would receive e-mail from us if you haven't registered is because someone you know thought you might like this opportunity. We do not sell e-mail addresses and we do not send spam.
Are there any special restrictions or rules for the Refer-a-Friend program?
This program has a simple set of rules to ensure that users are referring their friends, and not spamming large lists or referring themselves. The rules are:
- Users may earn one (1) reward for each valid referral
- Users may not submit multiple e-mail addresses and/or multiple credit card numbers to set up accounts in an attempt to earn a reward or an additional reward.
- Users may not participate in a Referral Program where doing so would be prohibited by any applicable law or regulations.
- Users may not use Spam to obtain referrals. Users may not acquire referrals through unsolicited e-mail to persons unknown to them, or through use net or message board postings, where the postings are unrelated to the topic of discussion or otherwise violate the terms of the site.
- Advance Auto Parts does not guarantee delivery time on any rewards earned, nor does it guarantee receipt of any rewards.
Why didn't I receive credit for my referral?
There are several reasons why you may not have received credit, and it's difficult to say without more information; however, here are the most common reasons.
- Your friend's purchase amount was less than $80 (see details regarding qualifying purchase above).
- Your friend did not click through your personal link before making the purchase, or clicked on another link from a different website after clicking on yours. It is essential for tracking that your friend makes the purchase after clicking only on on your link. This can often occur if they attempt to use a different coupon code they find on another site, or if they close their window, and then perform a search on Google to re-access the site.
- Your friend returned or canceled their order after making the purchase.
- Your friend placed the order recently, and we have not had time to validate it yet. It may take up to two weeks for that validation to occur.
